Retrospectively looking forward and facing father time...

Time comes around, for all of us, inevitably, where a sudden realization hits us very hard.

Here is the thing: we all have an internal age that seems in no way bound to our physical age. For me it's around 22. Perhaps I have never really grown beyond my internal age and some, being nice, may describe this as being young at heart. I would rather be wise for my age though. I guess it is time to stop drifting along the ebb and flow of life and set a meaningful direction.

So the question really is; can you alter your internal age or is it set in stone?

What would be a good age to aim for? How about 39? More mature with a dash of wisdom whilst still relatively young at heart and not having crossed the threshold of middle age.

The second question is how do you grow your inner age? Perhaps wisdom is the key.

Wikipedia defines Wisdom as:

Wisdom is the ability to think and act using knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense, and insight. Wisdom has been regarded as one of four cardinal virtues; and as a virtue, it is a habit or disposition to perform the action with the highest degree of adequacy under any given circumstance.

Based on this definition I have all the ingredients laid out on the table. All I need to do is get the mix right and stuff it into the oven.

So, hello 2016, I can see you around the corner. Here is to being 39 on the brink of 2017. Wish me luck.
