This Sunday in Woking - An Evening with Ray Mears

Spring is beckoning. Time to venture back into the great outdoors.

I have tickets for Ray's show on Sunday. Should be good.

The Season Gets Underway

At a glance, the British countryside still appears to be in its dormant winter state but the days are at last becoming noticeably longer. Perhaps you’ve already noticed other signs that spring is on its way; the first tiny buds emerging in the hedges or the distant cry of the vixen.

As always, Woodlore is moving in pace with the season too; having just returned from the depth of the Canadian winter, Dan Hume, our Head of Operations and Keith Whitehead, our Quartermaster, are making final preparations for the year ahead. Keith has finished preparing our course equipment which is now in top condition and they are both putting the finishing touches to Woodlore’s annual staff training to ensure the progression and development of the whole team.

We have a very exciting and varied year planned ahead and now is a great time to plan a Woodlore wilderness bushcraft experience for yourself or a loved one, and the good news is we still have places remaining.

You could join us for a weekend of fun, learning versatile skills on the Introduction to Bushcraft course, or broaden your knowledge of living in a fixed camp using the axe and other traditional tools on the Camp Craft course.
Spend a day in the woods with Ray Mears as he teaches you the art of woodcarvingor try a weekend learning traditional methods of fire lighting from around the world on our Fire Lighting Techniques Workshop
Prepare yourself to save lives and limbs by joining our Emergency First Aider course. Whether you find yourself at home or in a far-flung wilderness, this unique course stands out from ordinary first aid and will present you with need-to-know life-saving skills in a challenging scenario based manner, tempered as always with Jamie Cooke's good humour and engaging teaching style.

For those who are longing for more adventure, join us as we descend the stunningArdeche gorge by canoe in southern France which is truly Europe’s Grand Canyon.
